"When I set out to make this record, I immediately knew who I wanted in the studio, though I hadn’t spoken to my old bandmates and friends in years. My son Joshua—a fantastic drummer—was on board from day one, even bringing in his bassist, Adam, for two tracks. But with my friends based in Grand Junction, Colorado, and myself in Southern California, the rest was up in the air. Everything clicked when my long-time collaborator Paul Jensen and I discovered Fusion Audio Solutions. After touring Taylor Riley’s incredible home studio, the pieces fell into place. Reconnecting with Paul, Guy Stephens, and Pete Langford was a miracle; having them bring their creativity to these tracks was a true blessing. As the record grew, so did our circle. Through our talented engineer, Taylor—who also filled in on drums, bass, and guitar—we brought in bassist Corey Roberts and keyboardist Eric Gross. The final magic happened when Paul introduced me to Grammy®-winning engineer Corin Nelsen to master the album. Through Corin’s network, we added the ultimate icing on the cake: world-class guest performances by Grammy® winners Charlie Bisharat (violin), Jeffrey Haynes (percussion), and Eugene Friesen (cello), alongside Premik Russel-Tubbs (flute/saxophone).
