From the wide-open plains of Wyoming to the hustle of Sunset Boulevard, Brian Grandbouche’s musical journey is a testament to the enduring power of the "Greatest Generation" of songwriting. As the driving force behind The Grandbouche Project, Brian blends a rigorous classical foundation with the energy and grit of classic rock as well as the intimate storytelling of the singer-songwriter era.

Brian’s path began at the piano, studying Bach and Beethoven before discovering the guitar at thirteen. After honing his craft in Colorado coffeehouses and bar bands, Brian moved to Grand Junction, where he became a fixture in the local bar circuit. It was here in 1979 that he met fellow musician / collaborators Paul Jensen and Joe Webber, a partnership that sparked Brian’s lifelong obsession with the magic of writing songs and being in the recording studio. They recorded their first album of Paul’s original songs together and dreamed of greater things.

Moving to Salt Lake City for work, he and Joe quickly found like-minded artists, and helped form Allies, recording original tunes with Jill Sissel. Joe and Brian famously walked the length of Sunset Boulevard to hand-deliver demo tapes to record labels in the pre-social media era. While the industry responded with "nicely worded rejection letters," the experience only deepened his commitment to his craft.

Life eventually led him to a successful corporate career and the joys of raising a family, but the music never stopped. Brian continued to write in private, never losing sight of his dream. Upon retiring early, he built a home studio and reconnected with lifelong collaborator Paul Jensen and a circle of old friends who had since become world-class professionals.

Today, The Grandbouche Project is the culmination of that lost time found. Brian’s new material is a rich reflection of a life fully lived—true americana - capturing the idealism of youth and the wisdom of experience. These tracks feature contributions from Grammy® winning musicians as well as amazing players who began as bandmates decades ago. For Brian, this project is a celebration of music and the special bond forged through song and lifelong friendships.
